The annual Symposium began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Laurie H. Glimcher, the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean of Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Gregory A. Petsko, the Director of the Helen and Robert Appel Alzheimer's Disease Research Institute, then gave a symposium overview, that was followed by special remarks from Mr. Robert Appel, the Vice Chair of the Board of Overseers.
The presentations, outlined below, highlighted groundbreaking research and discoveries, and the meeting provided a platform for discussing the advances being made in Alzheimer's disease and other related neurodegenerative disorders.
A final panel discussion was then led by Dr. Matthew E. Fink, the Chair of the Department of Neurology.
